General distribution. Central and southern Europe, Ukraine, South European Territory of Russia (Astrakhan region, Adygea, North Osetia), Anatolia, Israel, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Morocco, and? Algeria ( Andersen 1995, García-Avilés 1995, Strpić 1997, Protić 1998, Hufnagel 2000, Gogala 2003, Kanyukova 2006, Prokin et al. 2008, Ghahari et al. 2010).

Comment. Previously confused with Gerris lateralis Schummel, 1832 .
