Oxypoda opaca is a widespread Palaearctic species previously recorded in North America in the United States from North and South Carolina, New York, and Vermont ( Hoebeke 1989). It was first recorded in Canada from Ontario and Nova Scotia ( Klimaszewski et al. 2006). Th is species is here newly recorded from British Columbia.
