This genus can be distinguished from the other co-occurring taxa by the combination of symmetric, biflabellated, 11-jointed antenna; and dorsal abdominal spiracles. Both sexes are alate and very similar in morphology, but differing in the relative length of the lamellae, which are longer in the males. Immature stages of P. costae were recently described by Vaz et al. (2020), but this species is not reported in our area.
