Diagnosis. This species has mandible swollen with a divergent lower tooth; the anterior two pairs of legs brownish and the hind legs with the tibia and tarsus brown. The mid and hind tibial spurs are strongly unequal; the ocelli are smaller and the antenna has fewer flagellomeres, comparing to T. wascia ( Gauld, et al., 2002).

Remarks. We did not find any variation in the specimens comparing with the holotype description.

Distribution. Costa Rica, Brazil. In Brazil, the specimens were collected in riparian forest (Itiquira, State of Mato Grosso) and Brazilian savannah (Brotas and São Carlos, São Paulo State).
