Roewer 1933: 377, fig. 268d (as Gluviopsis somalica nov. spec.)

Type locality and specimens. nur ♀—Somaliland (Land der Rahannia)—(vidi 1♀, Typus).

Dimensions. Körperlänge 15 mm. [11.48; 14.70]

Oldest label. Gluviopsis rufescens Poc. var. nigripalpis Poc. , Mus . Genua X.1912, Süd Somali Land d. Rahannin (Kraepeling handwriting in pencil).

Additional label. Gluviopsis somalica , 1♀ — Typus-nov. spec. Somali: Rahannin, Roewer det. 1931 . No. 8363 (Roewer handwriting).

Type material. Holotype ♀ (ZMH-A0000181). Missing legs.

Collection remarks. We agree with Harvey (2013) that the “Land der Rahannia” as stated on one of the labels refers to the land inhabitated by the Rahanweyn people in current south-western Somalia. The specimens were probably sent to Kraepelin by Swedish arachnologist Tord Thorell who studied spiders at the Museo Civico di Storia Naturale di Genova at that time with Giacomo Doria, the then-director of the museum.

Current systematic position. Daesiidae , Gluviopsis somalica Roewer 1933 .
