Distribution: Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: bivittatus species group. Revised by Eger and Peterson (1979); also see Taylor (1999). Note that the correct spelling for the specific epithet in combination with Chaerephon is bivittatus (not bivittata) because the genus name is masculine.
