Syromastus rhombeus (Linnaeus, 1767) View in CoL

Cimex rhombeus Linnaeus, 1767: 218 (as new species); Cimex quadratus Fabricius, 1775: 707 ; Verlusia sinuata Fieber, 1861: 229 .

Distribution in Iran. Ardabil, Guilan ( Linnavuori 2007), East Azarbaijan ( Baroughi 1978; Modarres Awal 1997b; Sadaghian et al. 2002; Nikdel et al. 2011), Fars ( Ghahari et al. 2011), Kerman ( Hoberlandt 1989), Khorasan ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b), Khuzestan ( Hoberlandt 1955), Mazandaran ( Wagner 1968; Ghahari et al. 2011), Tehran ( Hoberlandt 1989), northern Iran (no locality cited) ( Lindberg 1938).

General distribution. The whole Europe, North Africa, Near East, Central Asia, Transcaucasia.

Comments. On Rumex sp. ( Polygonaceae ), Triticum sp. ( Poaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1996a), Chenopodium foliosum (Chenopodiaceae) , Hibiscus trionum (Malvaceae) ( Ghahari et al. 2011), several Caryophyllaceae ( Linnavuori 2007) . Also, out of Iran was recorded on Anacardiaceae , Asteraceae , Brassicaceae , Cistaceae , Cupressaceae , Euphorbiaceae , Lamiaceae , Oaceae, Pinaceae , and Polygonaceae ( Moulet 1995) .
