Basionym:― Salsola etoshensis Botsch. in Botanicheskii Zhurnal 58: 822 (1973).

Type:― SOUTH-WEST AFRICA [ NAMIBIA]. Etosha Game Reserve: 4.4 miles north of Okakuejo on road to Ondongua, white calcareous gravelly flats, 12 November 1955, De Winter 3610 (holotype LE-00011856 ! ; isotype PRE-0375536-0 !) .

Distribution: ―Namibia: Etosha Pan.
