Notes: ―The specimen PRE0369280 (Drège 3000b!) has been designated (on the herbarium sheet as the type of Salsola tuberculata var. flavovirens Fenzl.
Salsola tuberculata sensu Aellen in Merxmüller in Prodr. Fl. Südwestafr. 32: 20 (1969) p.p., non S. tuberculata (Moq.) Fenzl. Botschantzev (1974a) included Salsola vermiformis C.A.Sm. ex Ulbr. in Engl. & Prantl in Natürl. Pflanzenfam., ed. 2, 16c: 566 (1934), nomen nudum, into synonymy of S. gemmiferum , probably based on the assumption that the taxonomic concept of S. tuberculata in Aellen (1967: 20) was misinterpreted.
