Type:― SOUTH AFRICA. Cape Prov. [Northern Cape Prov.]: Hanover , 18 miles NW by W of Hanover, central upper Karoo flood plain, c. 4400 ft elev., 26 October 1954, Acocks 17830 (holotype LE-00011849 !; isotypes PRE-0372005-0 !, PRE-0372009-0 !).

Distribution: ―South Africa (NC, WC, EC): Gamka Karoo (Beaufort West), Bushmanland, Upper Karoo (Hanover, Carnarvon, Richmond), Middelburg.
