Genus STELEOCEROMYS Grünberg View in CoL View at ENA

Steleoceromys Grünberg, 1915: 48 View in CoL . Type species, Steleoceromys anthracina Grünberg, 1915 View in CoL , by monotypy.

Psapharomydops Lindner, 1966a: 367 View in CoL . Type species, Psapharomydops procera Lindner, 1966a , by monotypy. Syn. nov.

Steleceromys procera (Lindner) . Comb. nov.

Psapharomydops procera Lindner, 1966a: 367 . HT ♀ [ MRAC]: Zaire: Kisangani , Yangambi.

We did not study the female holotype of Steleoceromys anthracina , but the description and illustrations are detailed enough that we are confident that all material we have examined is congeneric. The only discrepancy is that in our material vein CuA forms nearly a right angle with Cu and CuP (Fig. 38), while the wing illustration in Grünberg (1915) shows vein CuA at a slightly wider angle. But because all the other characters are in accordance with our material we think that the illustration might not be correct. The female holotype of Psapharomydops procera ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 7 – 12 ) was examined [ MRAC] and fits the description of Steleceromys very well. We have several undescribed species of Steleoceromys on hand.
