The proposed synonym is based on the comparison between the male holotype of Acanthoderes schmithi Melzer, 1935 View in CoL from Brazil, Santa Catarina, Joinville (MZSP), and the female holotype photo of Acanthoderes (Psapharochrus) sexmaculatus Fuchs, 1961 View in CoL from Brazil, Santa Catarina, Blumenau (CHSV).
