Endotricha fuscobasalis Ragonot, 1891: 526 View in CoL

( Figs 1 View FIGURES 1–8 , 17 View FIGURES 17–22 )

Type locality: Pakistan, Punjab

Material examined: India, Sikkim: Yuksom , 2 ♁, 03.v.2014 (8762/H10) ; Uttarakhand: Chirbatiya, 2 ♁, 03.vi.2014 (13251/H10), Koti kanasar, 1 ♁, 06.vi.2014 (13252/H10), R. Ranjan leg. (NZCZSI) .

Diagnosis: Externally, E. fuscobasalis and E. melanobasis are closely similar species, differences are discussed under E. melanobasis . Based on the male genitalia capsule and specifically the T-shaped uncus, E. fuscobasalis ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 17–22 ) is closely related to the externally distinct E. costaemaculalis Christoph, 1881 ( Figs 3 View FIGURES 1–8 , 19 View FIGURES 17–22 ), but is differentiated by the apical portion of juxta having two well-formed patches of comparatively larger and robust spines, and the saccular process broader, almost straight and slightly broadened subapically, and ending to a small spiniform process, whereas in E. costaemaculalis , apex of juxta uniformly covered with minute spines and saccular process is narrower, slightly wavy and gradually narrowing towards an acute apex.

Distribution: Indian subcontinent (North) ( Whalley 1963); Sikkim, Uttarakhand (present study), China (Tibet)
