Distribution.

Hawai‘i ( Hawai‘i, Lana‘i, Maui, Moloka‘i, O‘ahu), Lord Howe and Norfolk Islands and New Zealand (Northern Island) ( Heimerl 1913b; Wagner et al. 2005).

Note.

Pisonia brunoniana Endl., which was considered by Stemmerik (1964a) a synonym of P. umbellifera , is treated here as an accepted name (as Ce. brunoniana ), following Sykes (1987), who clarified the key characters to separate both species.
