This species has a dubious distinction of having the highest number of junior synonyms of any African Pseudophyllinae – 6 species have been synonymized with T. aclivis by Beier (1954, 1962). His decisions clearly need a critical evaluation as even a cursory comparison of some of the species synonymized with T. aclivis (especially Mormotus fulvus Bolivar ) reveal strong morphological differences in both the male genitalic structures, and the morphometric characteristics of the thorax. However, since I have not had the opportunity to examine all type specimens of species synonymized with T. aclivis , I must abstain from reversing any of Beier’s synonyms. T. aclivis and all its synonyms have been recorded from Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea ( Fernando Poo), and Guinea-Bissau ( Beier 1962).
