Distribution and habitat. Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Australia ( Schmelz 2003), Hungary (Dózsa-Farkas 2019), Korea ( Felföldi et al. 2020). Most often found in moist, sandy, slightly acidic ( PH 4.3–5.7) soil influenced by freshwater bodies: river banks, floodplains, pond slopes ( Schmelz 2003).

Distribution in China. Jilin Province (Chen 2009; Lian et al. 2011).

Remarks. Schmelz (2003) suggested that F. sohlenii is a synonym of F. cylindrica Springett, 1971 , but Erséus et al. (2005) disagreed with this view. Dózsa-Farkas (2019) supported the latter one and identified minor morphological differences between the two species in her study of specimens from Hungary. Although only F. cylindrica has been recorded in China, we are not in a position to decide whether the two species are synonymous or not. Chen (2009) used Schmelz (2003) to identify the specimens. For the time being, we include F. sohlenii in the list of synonymies, to caution future researchers to be more careful when identifying F. cylindrica .
