Type species: Enchytraeus sphagnetorum Vejdovský, 1878

Remarks. The ICZN (2018) in opinion 2423 has given precedence of Cognettia Nielsen & Christensen, 1959 over Chamaedrilus Friend, 1913 , its senior synonym. Cognettia has also precedence over Euenchytraeus in case that their respective type species are considered to belong to the same genus. The molecular work of Martinsson et al. (2017) suggests they are not synonyms, although those authors did not test the type species of Euenchytraeus . Euenchytraeus is listed separately in this study.
