TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Querétaro, Cerro de la Calentura, about 8 mi (13 km) NW of Pinal de Amoles, 9,500 ft. (2,896 m) .
DISTRIBUTION: Known only from the type locality.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Cratogeomys .
