TYPE LOCALITY: Costa Rica, exact locality unknown .
DISTRIBUTION: C Costa Rica.
SYNONYMS: cartagoensis Goodwin, dolichocephalus Merriam.
COMMENTS: Subgenus Macrogeomys . Reviewed by Goodwin (1946). Phylogenetic relationships given by Hafner (1991).
