Agonocryptus brevicauda Kasparyan & Ruíz-Cancino, 2005 . Original description, male and female, keyed, figure. Agonocryptus brevicauda: Yu et al., 2016 . Catalog.

Variation. Malar space pale yellow (vs. blackish); pronotal collar with interrupted pale yellow stripe (vs. complete); hind tibia dark brown, basal 0.2 whitish (vs. brownish yellow, apically darkened).

Comments. This species departs from the typical morphological pattern of Agonocryptus , especially due to the distinctly elongate and slender mesosome and metasoma, and the rectangular areolet, among other features. However, combined molecular and morphological analyzes (Santos & Aguiar, in preparation) consistently recover this species within Agonocryptus .

Distribution. Brazil NR (Espírito Santo), and Mexico ( Fig. 18G ).
