Occurrence: Mediterranean Sea ( Tortonese 1965).

Depth: 0–100 m ( Tortonese 1965).

Habitat: sand, mud to gravel, on sea grass prairies ( Tortonese 1965).

Larval stage: probably planktotrophic (inferred from the genus; see McEdward & Miner 2001).

Commercial value: edible ( Sicuro & Levine 2011).
