Diplommatina (Sinica) tetragonostoma Möllendorff, 1897: 96 (JaVa) View in CoL . Kobelt 1902: 475. Zilch 1953: 37, pl. 13 fig. 190. Diplommatina tetragonostoma View in CoL — Van Benthem Jutting 1948: 596, fig. 52.

Diagnosis. Diplommatina tetragonostoma is characterized by a distinct narrowing of the last 1.5 whorls, distinct extensions of the peristome, a prominent columellar lamella and moderately widely spaced ribs.

Shell ( Fig. 32 View FIGURES 29 – 32 ; Table 1). Dextral; spindle-shaped with conical early whorls and a much narrowed last whorl; with 6.5–6.75 whorls separated by a deep suture; protoconch smooth; teleoconch with moderately widely spaced ribs (31–39 on the penultimate whorl; approximately the same number on the last whorl); without discernible spiral striae between the ribs; light corneous; subtranslucent; last whorl rounded, with a ventrolateral right constriction; aperture subangular, angular at the transition from columellar to basal side; upper insertion of the peristome ascending towards aperture; insertions of the peristome connected by a distinct callus; peristome distinctly expanded, with 2–4 blunt processes, of which the upper palatal and the columellar-basal are strongest, thickened, doubled; aperture with a prominent columellar lamella; with a short spiral palatal fold in the middle of the whorl ventrally inside the last whorl and with an indistinct radial palatal fold ventrolaterally right; umbilicus closed. Shell height 2.5–2.9 mm, shell diameter 1.4–1.65 mm.

Remarks. Diplommatina tetragonostoma is most similar to D. calcarata . For a comparison see there.
