Coccus aequale (Newstead) . The specific name is currently neuter and is changed here to the Latin masculine aequalis as Coccus aequalis (Newstead) .

Coccus latioperculatum (Green) . The gender of the specific name is here changed to the Latin masculine latioperculatus as Coccus latioperculatus (Green) notwithstanding the misspelling of the specific name laeoperculatus by Tang (1991).

Metaceronema japonica (Maskell) . The original combination was correct as Ceronema japonicum Maskell because the genus name is neuter (nema being a Greek neuter noun meaning thread). Metaceronema is also neuter and the present combination is changed here to Metaceronema japonicum (Maskell) .

Waxiella egbara (Cockerell) . When Cockerell (1899: 127) described Ceroplastes egbarum Cockerell , he named the species after “the great city of the Egbas”, meaning of the Egba people. Cockerell rightly used the Latin genitive plural, a word that cannot be inflected for a gender change of genus. The present combination is changed here to Waxiella egbarum (Cockerell) .
