Material examined. Western Australia: WAM C13552, NW of Bluff Point, Geraldton , 97 m , CSIRO stat 204, 27°18’S, 113°16’E, 9-10-1963, dredged, with sponge, starfish: female 9.3 × 9.5 mm (damaged) GoogleMaps .

Remarks. The carapace is about as wide as long, smooth, strongly domed, and abruptly convex behind frontal margin which resembles C. tuberculata ; the rostral and anterolateral teeth are blunt. Cryptodromia tumida has been reported by Montgomery (1931) from shore collections on the Abrolhos Islands.

Distribution. Japan, Indonesia, New Guinea and Western Australia; intertidal down to 97 m.
