Type Locality: Chile, Magallanes Prov., Isla Wellington, about 1.2 km NW Puerto Eden.

Vernacular Names: Wellington Akodont.

Distribution: Isla Wellington, S Chile.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc) as Akodon markhami .

Discussion: Considered a species of the subgenus Akodon by its describer (also Muñoz Pedreros, 2000); referred to Abrothrix by Smith and Patton (1999).
