Type species. Modisimus glaucus Simon, 1893
Diagnosis. Small to medium-sized spiders (1.5– 4 mm body length) traditionally distinguished by a high elevation of the ocular area, the “eye turret” and by high density of short vertical hairs on male leg femora ( Huber, 1998, Huber et al., 2010).
