Current status.

Preoccupied by Lycaena semiargus balcanica Tutt, 1909; replacement name Lycaeides argyrognomon baldur (Hemming, 1934) is the current valid name.

Bulgaria: "MON. RILSKI" [Monastery Rilski].

Remarks.

Züllich (1929) proposed this name as a form of L. argyrognomon ( Bergsträsser, 1779). According to article 45.6.4 ( ICZN 1999), it is subspecific if first published before 1961 and author expressly used the term “form”.
