scientific name

Trigonocotyle
status

Trigonocotyle View in CoL spp.

Host: Tasmacetus shepherdi Oliver

Site in host: stomach

Locality: Estancia Sara and Punta Sinai, Tierra del Fuego province

References: Dougnac and Fredes (2012)

Notes: Species of Trigonocotyle View in CoL inhabit the intestine of cetaceans ( Delyamure 1955; Markowski 1955; Hoberg 1990). The presences of specimens of Trigonocotyle View in CoL spp. in the stomach of T. shepherdi View in CoL seems to be related to postmortem movement of the tapeworms from the anterior small intestine.
