( Figs 200–201 View FIGURES 198 – 210 )

Dissomphalus rettenmeyeri Evans, 1964: 45 , 52, 53–55; (♂, holotype from Panama, USNM, figs 28–30); Gordh & Móczár, 1990: 25; Azevedo, 2003: 70 View Cited Treatment –71.

Diagnosis. Mandible bidentate. Clypeus broadly projected forward, with small median tooth paralleled by small rounded expansion. Tergal process with pair of triangular and shallow lateral depressions, drop-shaped pit with tuft of very short setae. Genitalia: paramere unusually very wide, apex truncate; aedeagal ventral ramus short than aedeagal dorsal body, with arrow apical expansion; aedeagal dorsal body with two pairs of apical lobes; outer pair elongate dome-shaped lobe; inner pair membranous, stout and setose.

Remarks. This species is known only from the holotype and allotype from Panama. In this study, it was the most abundant species with 273 specimens and it has the largest distribution. All the specimens when compared with description by Evans (1964) and redescription by Azevedo (2003) have no variations that worth to mention.
