Epiphytic herbs. Distribution in PILA 100–1900 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest. Global distribution: USA to Argentina, Antilles. Records : A.K. Monro 5668 (BM, INB, PMA). Uses: handicrafts.
