Qiang Sun; 43 1Ƥ, Shenlongjia, Hubei Province, 27 Jul. 2001, coll. Min Huang & Guiling Zhang (NWAFU).
Distribution. China (Shaanxi, Gansu, Hubei).
Remarks. After checking the holotype of A. taibaiensis , the new illustrations ( Figs 37–41 View FIGURES 27 – 41. 27, 28 ) show many similarities to A. yanglinginus ( Figs 33–36 View FIGURES 27 – 41. 27, 28 ) except for differences in the size of the penis shaft and the size of the dorsal lamella in profile, and also the ventral pygofer appendage adorned with minute transverse ribs in its caudal part in the former species. However, we suggest these differences represent variability within one species, and therefore treat the two taxa as synonyms.
Dworakowska (1997) tentatively placed Alebroides yanglinginus in the A. toroensis species group. We suggest that this species should be assigned to the A. hachijonis species group base on the following combination of characters: anal tube process long and tapering distad, extending well beyond main body of segment 10; subgenital plate broadened at basal part and narrower apically; paramere s-shaped terminally with dentifer bearing well-defined teeth; aedeagal shaft almost 2/5 of total length.
