Javapsocus spp.

Unassigned females.

Material examined (all taken by beating): INDONESIA, SUMATRA, West, Kerinci Seblat National Park, Base camp, 1600m, Pines , 5 females, 22–24.I.1997, ESK; West, Kerinci Seblat National Park , Gunung Tujuh, 1400m, Cultivated areas, cinnamon, 2 females, 23.I.1997, ESK; West, Lologedang, Sungai penuh, 920m, cinnamon, 1 female, 20.I.1997, ESK .

Remarks: Thornton and Endang collected 154 female specimens from elevations above 900m on Java on 1986, 1987, 1988 and 1991. On wing pattern those females could be conspecific with males of any of the four species of Javapsocus described by Endang et al. (2002), and were found in association with each of these. The Sumatran specimens are clearly similar to the unassigned females from Java both in fore wing venation and in details of the genitalic structures. Five females collected from Kerinci Seblat National Park were found in association with the males of both Javapsocus soegiri and J. ungulatus . As noted above, their identity is still under study and formal specific placement of the Sumatran and Javan females cannot be given at present.
