Diagnosis. Brescovit & Simó (2007: 2) provided a diagnosis for the genus Ctenus as follows: Males with short palpal tibia; tegulum elongated basally; embolus with a basal projection; median apophysis short and truncated apically. Female epigynum with anterior protruding ovoid lobes; epigynum with conspicuous lateral spurs positioned medially to basally.
