Description

Internal capsule 30 mm long, 10 mm in maximum width; external capsule about 40 mm long, 12 mm in maximum width. Nipple-like projections of both capsules more developed than in P. thomae , basal projection of external capsule reaching 4.5 mm in length and 2 mm in width. Spiralled internal lamellate ridge forming 15 gyres. Other features as in P. thomae .

Material examined

Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Maca é (Parque Nacional da Restinga de Jurubatiba), S.C. Buys: one cocoon from a larva kept in laboratory.
