Description. Adult. Colouration ( Figs 1C View FIGURE 1 , 2G View FIGURE 2 ) as in B. apollo .
Structure. Body ( Fig. 1B View FIGURE 1 ) 2.2–2.7 mm long ( 8 ♂, 7 ♀). Head ( Fig. 1D View FIGURE 1 ) with subtrapezoidal vertex, 0.3–0.4 times as long as wide; genal processes very small, forming blunt transverse tubercles, distinctly separated from vertex; eyes transversely oval. Antenna 1.1–1.2 times as long as head width; antennal segment 10 1.7 times as long as its diameter; length ratio of antennal segment 10 and terminal setae as 1.0: 1.7: 1.6. Rostrum 0.4 times head width. Mesepimeron with small tubercle. Metapostnotum with small thorn-like median tubercle. Metatibia 0.8 times as long as head width, with 8 apical spurs. Forewing 2.1–2.4 times as long as head width, 1.9–2.0 times as long as wide; pterostigma broadest in the middle, relatively short; surface spinules in cell r 2 above bifurcation of vein M forming irregular transverse rows. Terminalia as in Figs 3D–F View FIGURE 3 , 4F, G View FIGURE 4 . Male proctiger two-segmented, forming angular lobe posteriorly. Paramere slightly shorter than proctiger; in profile, digitiform, bearing small subapical lobe posteriorly; inner face with relatively widely space thick bristles in apical third. Distal segment of aedeagus shorter than proctiger, with oboval apical dilation. Female proctiger 1.0 times as long as head width, relatively evenly narrowing to apical spiniform process; circumanal ring 0.2 times as long as proctiger; female subgenital plate 0.6 times as long as proctiger, relatively evenly narrowing to apical spiniform process.
Measurements (in mm) ( 1 ♂, 1 ♀). Head width 0.90‒0.96; antenna length 1.00–1.16; forewing length 1.88‒ 2.32; male proctiger length 0.32; paramere length 0.30; length of distal segment of aedeagus 0.28; female proctiger length 1.00.
Fifth instar immature. Structure. Body ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ) 1.0 times as long as wide. Antennal flagellum with blunt sectasetae. Minute clavate setae on thorax sparse ( Fig. 5E View FIGURE 5 ). Fore- and hindwing pads bearing blunt or subacute dorsal sectasetae. Caudal plate slightly angular posteriorly ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ); with each a submedian and a sublateral longitudinal row of blunt sectasetae. Large marginal, mostly pointed sectasetae more in numbers: forewing pad 8–9, hindwing pad 3–4, abdomen (one half only) 7–9.
Measurements (in mm) ( 2 immatures). Body length 1.50; antenna length 0.58‒0.62; forewing pad length 0.70– 0.82.
Etymology. Athena was the Olympian goddess of wisdom and good counsel, among other qualities.
Host plant. Roupala montana var. montana Aubl. ( Proteaceae ).
Distribution. Brazil ( Minas Gerais).
