TYPE MATERIAL. — Holotype IMT 80-14 View Materials [not seen], figured by Kosuge & Suzuki (1985: pl. 23, fig. 18, pl. 36, fig. 5).

TYPE LOCALITY. — Off Mactan, Cebu, Philippines .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Norfolk Ridge. NORFOLK 1: stn CP 1676, Banc Kaimon-Maru , 24°43’S, 168°09’E, 227-232 m, 1 dd GoogleMaps .

DISTRIBUTION. — Philippines (Kosuge & Suzuki 1985: 23). Norfolk Ridge, one empty shell in 227-232 m.

REMARKS. — The single shell collected is worn and lacks the tip. Although it is slightly more inflated than the Philippines specimens, the overall characters are concordant with Babelomurex tumidus .
