TYPE MATERIAL. — Unknown.

TYPE LOCALITY. — Kashiwajima, southwestern Shikoku , Japan .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Norfolk Ridge. SMIB 8: stn DW 159, 24°26’, 168°08’E, 241-245 m, 1 dd .

Vanuatu. MUSORSTOM 8: stn CP 970, 20°19’S, 169°53’E, 252-310 m, 1 dd (Fig. 83).

DISTRIBUTION. — Known previously from Japan, South China Sea, Philippines, on sand in 50-200 m (Higo et al. 1999: 220), and from Hawaii ( Kay 1979). This is the southernmost record for the species. Vanuatu and Norfolk Ridge, empty shells in 245-252 m.

REMARKS. — The shells are quite similar to material from the Philippines.
