TYPE MATERIAL. — Holotype IMT 85-10 View Materials [not seen], figured by Kosuge & Suzuki (1985: pl. 17, fig. 3).

TYPE LOCALITY. — South China Sea.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Futuna. MUSORSTOM 7: stn DW 509, 14°15’S, 178°11’W, 200-240 m, 1 dd (Fig. 102); stn DW 512, 14°13’S, 178°10’W, 210-245 m, 1 dd GoogleMaps .

DISTRIBUTION. — Previously reported only from the South China Sea, although specimens from the Philippines are circulating in the dealers market. Present specimens from Wallis and Futuna, empty shells in 210-240 m.

REMARKS. — It is not possible with the two avalaible shells to decide whether they belong to an undescribed species; more material is needed.
