Type Locality: Indonesia, Sumatra.

Vernacular Names: Malayan Free-tailed Bat.

Synonyms: Mops (Mops) indicus Lesson 1842 ; Mops (Mops) tenuis Temminck 1827 ; Mops (Mops) labiatus ( Temminck 1827) .

Distribution: W Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, perhaps Java.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Mops . Dysopes labiatus Temminck, 1827 , may be an older name for this taxon; see discussion in Hill (1961 b) and Corbet and Hill (1992). Possibly includes sarasinorum ; see Corbet and Hill (1992).
