Type Locality: Brazil, Minas Gerais, "Rio das Velhas," Lagoa Santa.

Vernacular Names: Gray Slender Opossum.

Synonyms: Marmosops bahiensis (Tate 1931) ; Marmosops scapulatus (Burmeister 1856) .

Distribution: E Brazil from the states of Bahia south to São Paulo.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Reviewed by Mustrangi and Patton (1997).
