Myopsocus andaquies n. sp.

( Figs 79–90 View FIGURES 79–84 View FIGURES 85–90 )

Diagnosis. Belonging to the assemblage of species that present the apical margin of the forewing scalloped, but unlike these, it presents forewing with cells M1 and M2 with apical hyaline area that reaches the margin of the wing; phallosome with side struts basally widened and rounded, meeting monthly ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 79–84 ).

Male. Color. Head ( Fig. 81 View FIGURES 79–84 ) pale brown, with scattered brown spots. Compound eyes black, ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Antenna pale brown; maxillary palps brown. Forewing ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 79–84 ) brown, with dark brown and hyaline spots, cell M1 and M2 with distal hyaline area well marked, pterostigma dark brown, with brown spot that extends outside the margin, while retaining its shape, alar margin dotted, veins pale brown to brown, some dotted. Hindwing ( Fig. 80 View FIGURES 79–84 ) smoked, with veins brown and dotted alar margin. Legs: coxae and trochanter dark brown, femur dark brown proximally, brown and light brown distally, with subapical brown spot, tibia and tarsi pale brown, t2–t3 darker. Hypandrium and phallosome brown, paraprocts and epiproct pale brown.

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 81 View FIGURES 79–84 ): H/MxW: 1.49; compound eyes large, H/D: 1.90; IO/MxW: 0.51. Vertex V-shaped wide, below upper level of compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips broad, with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.42. Forewings ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 79–84 ): L/W: 2.41. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 2.29, areola postica wider than tall, apically angled: al/ah: 1.54. Cell M1 and M2 with scalloped posterior margin. Anal vein sinuous and forming part of a fold of the alar membrane, like a pocket. Hindwings ( Fig. 80 View FIGURES 79–84 ): l/w: 2.67. Hypandrium triangular, with short medial rounded posterior process ( Fig. 83 View FIGURES 79–84 ), anterior border concave, with several macrosetae. Phallosome ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 79–84 ): Side struts basally widened and rounded, meeting at mesal line; arch aedeagal not evident, external parameres widely separated by membrane from endophallus. Paraprocts ovoid ( Fig. 82 View FIGURES 79–84 ), with a dense field of setae and macrosetae on distal area; sensory fields with 20 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 82 View FIGURES 79–84 ) semioval, with rounded and projecting latero-basal processes below the clunium, with setae scattered in the distal field, as illustrated.

Female. Color. As in males. Paraprocts, epiproct and gonapophyses slightly pigmented.

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 87 View FIGURES 85–90 ). H/MxW: 1.22; Vertex somewhat sinuous, almost level with the upper margin of the compound eyes, these smaller than in males, H/D: 2.15, widely separated IO/MxW: 0.67. Outer cusp of lacinial tips little wide, with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.23. Forewings ( Fig. 85 View FIGURES 85–90 ): L/W: 2.37. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 2.54, areola postica almost as tall as wide, apically angled: al/ah: 1.34. Hindwings ( Fig. 86 View FIGURES 85–90 ): l/w: 2.62. Paraprocts ( Fig. 88 View FIGURES 85–90 ) subrectangular, with short outer margin, distally with rows of setae and macrosetae, apical margin with abundant setae; sensory fields with 27 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 88 View FIGURES 85–90 ) subtriangular, broadly rounded apically and basal margin slightly concave, distal field with setae and four macrosetae, apical margin with small setae. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 89 View FIGURES 85–90 ). Gonapophyses typical to family ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 85–90 ), V1 very narrow, acuminate apically, with microsetae, V2 distally acuminate and with microsetae, more than twice the length of V1, V3 oval and with abundant macrosetae as illustrated.
