Lichenomima huilensis n. sp.

( Figs 25–30 View FIGURES 25–30 )

Diagnosis. Unlike other Lichenomima species, it presents hypandrium and phallosome different. The hypandrium is formed by two short, widened lobes, separated by a medial membranous area ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 25–30 ). Phallosome widely enlarged, with widened phallobase, strongly curved inward and with medial sclerotization ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–30 ), external parameres elongated and with tooth-like processes on their inner margin. On the other hand, the male has small compound eyes and widely separated ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25–30 ), similarly as found in L. occidentalis n. sp. described below.

Male. Color. Head ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25–30 ) brown, vertex, frons, genae and labrum darker; compound eyes dark brown; ocelli hyaline, with ochre centripetal crescents. Antenna pale brown; maxillary palps brown. Thorax brown, with cream spots. Legs pale brown. Forewings brown ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25–30 ) with hyaline spots, especially on cells M1, M2 and M3 basally and on a large area of the areola postica; brown, alar margin and veins punctate, except CuP, pterostigma basally and apically with brown spot, centrally hyaline. Hindwings ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25–30 ) smoked, brown veins, dotted costal margin. Abdomen creamy to brown, clunium, hypandrium ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 25–30 ) and phallosome brown ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–30 ), epiproct and paraprocts brown to pale brown ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 25–30 ).

Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25–30 ): H/MxW: 1.13; compound eyes relatively small and widely separated, H/D: 2.56; IO/MxW: 0.72. Vertex straight and above the upper edge of the compound eyes. Outer cusp of lacinial tips little wide, with four denticles; Mx4/Mx2: 1.09. Forewings ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25–30 ): L/W: 2.73. Pterostigma: lp/wp: 3.56, areola postica wider than tall, apically angled: al/ah: 1.50. Hindwings ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 25–30 ): l/w: 2.80. Hypandrium much wider than long, membranous apically and medially ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 25–30 ), with setae and macrosetae. Phallosome with membranous endophallus ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–30 ). Paraprocts elongated, with two apical processes directed inward ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 25–30 ), with field of setae and macrosetae on distal area; sensory fields with 36 trichobothria on basal rosettes. Epiproct ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 25–30 ) subtrapezoidal, more broadened basally, anterior margin with wide medial emargination, basal field with protrusion well sclerotized, setae and macrosetae as illustrated.
