Pachycoleus Fieber, 1860: 268 View in CoL (downgraded by Linnavuori, 1984: 20; upgraded by Pluot-Sigwalt & Péricart, 2003: 130). Type species: Pachycoleus waltli Fieber, 1860 View in CoL .
Note: The genus Pachycoleus View in CoL is sometimes mentioned as a subgenus of Cryptostemma View in CoL , but many recent works considered that this genus is valid ( Aukema et al., 2013; Weirauch & Štys, 2014; Weirauch & Fernandes, 2015).
Diagnosis: Differs from other genera by small body, not exceeding 2 mm or around 2 mm; absence of male abdominal appendages anterior to segment VIII (presence of appendages on only segment VIII); and spermatheca simple, positioned at left side of 7th abdominal segment, not reaching lateral margin, not embraced by a loculus capsulae in female.
