Type species. Pradomyia hadromera , sp. nov., by present designation.

Etymology. Named in honor of the Brazilian dipterist, Angelo Pires do Prado, who pioneered work on Neotropical Odiniidae , adding the Greek feminine word myia, meaning fly, to the end.
