Anastoechus chakanus Du View in CoL , et al., 2008: 15, 16. Type locality: China (Qinghai).

Diagnosis. Occiput with long yellowish erect hairs on apical half and long white erect hairs on lower half. Scutellum reddish brown with long dense white hairs. Epandrium curved mid-posteriorly in dorsal view; epiphallus turriform, obtuse at tip in dorsal view.

Redescription. Male. Body length 8 mm, wing length 8 mm.

Head ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 11 ) black with yellowish scales. Hairs on head white, yellowish and black; frons narrowing directed distally, with long dense black erect hairs except base of antenna with yellowish hairs, face with long dense white erect hairs except base of antenna with yellowish hairs; occiput with long yellowish erect hairs on apical half and long white erect hairs on lower half. Antenna black except yellow at joint; scape elongate with dense yellowish erect hairs; first flagellomere elongate, bare, with a stylus at tip. Proboscis [broken off at tip and missing] black, bare, nearly four times longer than head.

Thorax black with pale dust. Hairs on thorax mostly white; postpronotal lobe with long dense yellow hairs, mesonotum with long dense white hairs; thorax with long dense white hairs on back, anepisternum and katepisternum with long dense white hairs. Scutellum reddish brown with long dense white hairs. Legs yellowish with white scales. Hairs on legs mostly yellowish, bristles yellowish. Femora with dense white scales; tibiae and tarsi with dense yellowish and sparse white scales. Hind femur with five av and two pd apically. Mid tibia with nine ad, 11 pd, eight av, eight pv; hind tibia with seven ad, eight pd, seven av and seven pv. Wing ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 20 ) uniformly faint brown except anterior portion with brown. Vein r-m close to tip of cell dm, cell r5 closed. Base of vein C with brush-like long yellowish bristles and yellowish scales. Halteres brown, pale at tip.

Abdomen black with brown dust. Hairs on abdomen white and yellowish; dorsum with long dense white and yellowish erect hairs. Sternites yellowish brown with long dense white erect hairs.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 39–44 View FIGURES 39 – 44 ). Epandrium subtriangular, slightly longer than high; cercus well exposed in lateral view; epandrium slightly longer than wide, curved mid-posteriorly in dorsal view; gonocoxite slightly narrowing apically in ventral view; gonostylus oval, its tip acute in lateral view; epiphallus turriform, obtuse at tip in dorsal view, epiphallus with a rather long and narrow tip in lateral view.

Female. Body length 9 mm, wing length 9 mm. Similar to male, but face with long dense white erect hairs; antenna with long white hairs on scape; ocellar tubercle with long white hairs; sternites black with yellowish posterior edge.

Specimens examined. 1 male, CHINA: Qinghai, Wulan, Chaka (N 36°47’ E 99°18’), 28. VII. 1950, Jikun Yang (Holotype) (CAU); 1 female, CHINA: Qinghai, doulan, Xiligou (N 36°51’ E 98°27’), 31. VII. 1950, Baolin Lu & Jikun Yang (Allotype) (CAU).
