Discussion. The holotype female labelled: “ Congo, Parc National de l’Upemba: Kasivabilenga 700m, 29–30 X 1947 (MRAC). The size of this specimen is smaller and can be distinguished at once from other congeners by the acute anteriorly diverging antenniferous lobes and the narrow contiguous genae, however all share the generic thoracic and abdominal features.

The type locality, a lowland forest reserve in south-eastern part of DRC distant from the type localities of basilewskyi and the new Tanzanian species, challenges the generic assignment of this species.

Measurements. HOLOTYPE, female, not seen, description from Hoberlandt (1967): Body length 6.8; head l/ w 1.52 /1.53; length of antennae 1.82, antennomeres I/II/III/IV = 0.5/0.34/0.64/0.34; ratio length of antennae / width of head 1.19 (incorrectly given as 1.40 in the original description); pronotum l/ w 0.72 /1.78.
