Cotula grandis Linnaeus View in CoL , Species Plantarum, ed. 2, 2: 1257. 1763.
"Habitat in Barbaria." RCN: 6460.
Lectotype (Vogt & Oberprieler in Willdenowia 36: 62. 2006): Brander, Herb. Linn. No. 1012.28 ( LINN) .
Current name: Plagius grandis (L.) Alavi & Heywood View in CoL ( Asteraceae ).
Note: In the mistaken belief that no original material was extant, Humphries (in Jarvis & Turland, Taxon 47: 359. 1998) designated a neotype. However, Vogt & Oberprieler have noted that a Brander collection from Algeria in LINN is in fact original material for the name and designated it as the lectotype.
