Type material. Holotype ɗ ( SCAU, No. 120391), labelled “ CHINA: Wangtianshu, Mengla, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, 11.ix.2002, ex tree trunk, HW Chen”. Paratypes: CHINA: 4Ψ ( SCAU, Nos 120392 -95), same data as the holotype; 4ɗ2Ψ ( KIZ), Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, 900 m a.s.l, 17.ix.2007, on tree trunks, HW Chen, JJ Gao, F Zhao; 11ɗ14Ψ ( SCAU, Nos 120396 -420), Wangtianshu, Mengla, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, 21–23.iv.2007, on grass and tree trunks, HW Chen, JJ Gao, F Zhao.

Etymology. A combination of the Latin words: brevis and barba, referring to the referring to the shorter filar-like processes of aedeagus.

Diagnosis. Aedeagal filar-like processes shorter than 1.5 times of rod-like process (Fig. 6).

Description. Male and female. Frons and fronto-orbital plate brown. Palpus yellow basally, black distally. Mesonotum and scutellum yellow brown, without patches and longitudinal stripes. Postpronotal lobe yellow brown on upper 3/5, white on lower 2/5. Mesopleuron white below black longitudinal stripe. Katepisternum yellowish, with 1 narrow, dark brown stripe on upper part. Legs almost brown, yellowish on fore femur and basal parts of mid and hind femora, dark brown on mid and hind tibiae. Fore femur with 3 setae on distal part of ventral surface. Abdominal all tergites yellow brown to brown. Sternites yellow brown. Plate between hypandrium and aedeagus with a few pubescence (Fig. 6).

Measurements. BL = 2.82 mm in holotype (range 4ɗ and 5Ψ paratypes: 2.56–2.68 in ɗ, 2.88–3.00 in Ψ), ThL = 1.30 mm (1.25–1.35 in ɗ, 1.35–1.42 in Ψ), WL = 2.12 mm (2.03–2.13 in ɗ, 2.10–2.32 in Ψ), WW = 1.06 mm (1.00– 1.05 in ɗ, 1.14–1.22 in Ψ). Indices: arb = 7/7 (8/7–8/8), avd = 0.77 (0.71–0.79), adf = 1.42 (1.36–1.60), flw = 1.75 (1.65–1.83), FW/HW = 0.38 (0.37–0.41), ch/o = 0.07 (0.08), prorb = 1.50 (1.22–1.39), rcorb = 0.93 (0.78–0.95), vb = 0.42 (0.35–0.44), dcl = 0.36 (0.35–0.48), presctl = 0.50 (0.51–0.69), sctl = 1.70 (1.55–1.80), sterno = 0.88 (0.83–0.93), orbito = 2.67 (2.00–2.53), dcp = 0.22 (0.17–0.20), sctlp = 1.20 (1.16– 1.47), C = 1.83 (1.81–2.04), 4c = 1.30 (1.09–1.23), 4v = 1.67 (1.59–1.71), 5x = 0.95 (0.88–1.10), ac = 8.53 (7.15–8.65), M = 0.40 (0.38–0.44), C3F = 0.66 (0.57–0.71).

Distribution. China (Yunnan).
