C. macrorchis Harrah, 1922

Type host. “Straight-billed curlew”. The only species of bird that we could find that has been called the “straightbilled curlew” in North America is the upland sandpiper, Bartramia longicauda (Bechstein) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ), which because of its larger size is considered to be a curlew by some authors.

Type locality. North America; specific type locality unknown. It was originally described from the Ward Collection No. 0 8.180 at the University of Illinois.

Additional host. Eurasian coot, Fulica atra Linnaeus ( Gruiformes : Rallidae )— Yamaguti (1971).

Additional locality. Inner Mongolia, People’s Republic of China—Yamaguti (1971).

Previously proposed synonym. Cyclocoelum (Cyclocoelum) macrorchis Harrah, 1922 — Bashkirova (1950).

Remarks. This species was considered a synonym of C. mutabile ( Zeder, 1800) by Joyeux & Baer (1927). Rudimentary oral sucker present—Harrah (1922).
