Type species: Ectatoderus formosanus Shiraki, 1911: 192 ( China: Taiwan).
Diagnosis. Compared with other species groups of Ornebius , this species group is distinguished by the male phallic complex, clockwork-like and the medial valve curved to a spiral in basal part with its base forming an axis in the centre of the spiral ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
Besides the type species, the species group includes O. albalatus , O. polycomus , O. apterus , O. panda , O. yunnanensis , Ornebius lunam sp. n. and Ornebius aurumalas sp. n.
